Because the parks deserve a proper field guide.
Someone has to catalogue it. The rides that run, the rides that closed, the rides that never got built at all – a habitat this strange should have a record, kept the way naturalists keep records: classified, dated, drawn from the specimen itself.
What we catalogue
Every plate begins with a real specimen. An attraction, a pavilion, a vehicle, a festival, a whole park. It receives a binomial, a class, and a plate number, and the number is permanent – the catalogue only ever grows.
The three classes
Extant is still out there and written in the present tense. Extinct once was and can be dated end to end. Exploratory was drawn but never built, and carries no confirmed dates at all – the record keeps what was reported or rumored.
How the plates are drawn
The treatment comes from the subject. A gondola traced from a surviving car. A window grid lifted from the house's own mullions. A gradient that encodes actual depth. It is slower than inventing a look, and it's how the plate tells the truth about the thing it documents.
