Field notes

Fig. 119 — Observation

A musical revue in the Land pavilion, performed by a company of foodstuffs organized by family: the grains sang in close harmony as a sister act, the proteins worked a vaudeville double bill, the dairy took a celestial turn as the Stars of the Milky Way. Bonnie Appetit hosted from her kitchen while the Krackpots kept time on pots and pans, the whole company running on puns and good nutrition in equal measure. Catalogued from opening day in 1982 until 1994, when the stage was struck and a louder act took the room.
