Horizons Tee

Attractio horizontis

$28.00

A strong contender for "Most Beloved Attraction of Yesteryear," the vision of the future presented by Horizons was packaged in an attraction that was itself ahead of its time.

Field notes

Fig. 084 — Observation

Horizons opened at EPCOT Center in 1983 with an optimistic premise: imagine not just the technology of the future, but what everyday life might look like once we got there. Guests traveled through visions of cities, deserts, oceans, and space before choosing their own route back to the present.

The pavilion closed permanently in 1999, but Horizons has never really disappeared. Its imagery, music, and stubbornly sunny view of tomorrow have made it one of EPCOT’s most enduring lost attractions.

Some visions of the future age better than others. This one still looks pretty good.
