Fig. 007 — Observation

First cultivated in Anaheim in 1955, the same species takes root at a new site every decade or so: Orlando in '71, Tokyo in '83, Paris in '92, Hong Kong in 2005, Shanghai in 2016. Each is a distinct population of the same idea, adapted to its climate and coastline. Catalogued together, the list can be read as a checklist, marked off as each budding naturalist makes their own observations at each site.
