Below the surface lies a 5.7 million gallon aquarium: the largest ever constructed as of first observation in 1986. The reef within persists; the research station that once kept it does not. Reclaimed by nature in 2006, when native species such as the clownfish and blue tang took up residence in lieu of its human staff.
